The Two Second Cousins

Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane Howard and Lord 

Richard Edward Howard II are second cousins and they have the same great-grandfather, Lord Charles Andrew Howard Senior.

Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane Howard is the granddaughter of Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR and Lord Richard Edward Howard III is the grandson of Lord Richard Edward Howard Senior, the younger brother of Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR.

Their eldest cousin, Lord David William Beck is also the great-grandson of Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR through his youngest son, Lord Edwin William Howard.

Lord Richard Edward Howard III was born 16 months after Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane Howard to Lord Richard Edward Howard II and his wife, Lady Suzanne Mary Bell who is the son of Lord Richard Edward Howard Senior and first cousin to Lord Andrew Charles Howard.

The two cousins grew close to each other and both Lady Suzanne and Lady Karissa allow them to see each other as it pleases Lord Charles Andrew Howard who is Lord Richard Edward Howard III’s great-uncle.

Lady Elizabeth and Lord Richard Edward III grow close as they start to grow up and almost become inseparable.

Lady Elizabeth becomes uncontrollable when she sees her father, Lord Andrew Charles, but when Lord Richard Edward III is with her. She is calm.

Lord Andrew Charles looks at his first cousin, Lord Richard Edward II and he asks “Why is that your son is the only one that calms Lady Elizabeth?”

“I expect that it is because  they are both the great-grandchildren of grandfather, Lord Charles Andrew Howard Senior.” Lord Richard Edward II states.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR hears the conversation between Lord Richard Edward II and Lord Andrew Charles and states, “ I wouldn’t be too proud about being my father’s grandson.”

“I can assure you two that he was a tyrant and when your father married Lady Antoinette Bourbon it angered my father.” Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

“My father wrote your father out of his Last Will and Testament as well as your Uncle Lord Edmund William as well.” Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

“He did provide for his wife, me, my children, and his son, Lord Robert Howard and his mother.” Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

“He also provided for Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard, our aunt and my sister, Lady Sophia Charlotte.” Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

“I reinstated my Uncle’s family into the succession only after my children.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“The succession is iron-clad and it will replace what my grandfather did and the Dukedom will go to Lady Elizabeth and her children, followed by Lady Samhain and her children and Lord Anthony Christopher and his children and any other children Lady Karissa and I have.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

Later on he adds Lady Anastasia Christina to the act of Succession only after Lady Sophia Dorothea and her children, after Lady Anastasia Christina, comes Lord Charles Andrew IV and his children, Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann and her children, Lady Autumn Bridget and her children.” Lord Andrew Charles tells his father.

“I am sure Lady Elizabeth will amend it when she becomes Duchess of Norfolk Territory.” Lord Andrew Charles tells his father and first cousin.

Lady Elizabeth and Lord Richard Edward III grow close to each other and even when they are sent to different schools. They write to each other, but Lady Elizabeth only attends Day School and not Boarding school.

Lady Karissa and Lady Suzanne watch their children grow together but Lady Suzanne tells Lady Karissa “ They are hope for the Howard's.” 

“Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR looks to Lady Elizabeth and his grand-nephew to marry.” Lady Karissa tells Lady Suzanne “ and he looks to Lady Samhain marrying his great-great-nephew, Lord David William Beck II.” 

“Lord Charles Andrew JR will never forgive his father for dividing his family.” Lady Karissa states, “I am sure that his great-grandfather, Lord Patrick William Howard would have not approved of the division caused by his son, Lord Frederick and his grandson, Lord Charles Andrew Senior. “

Lady Karissa and Lady Suzanne watch their children get closer together, but in 2291, Lady Elizabeth has an argument with Lord Richard Edward III and she temporarily calls off their friendship and she starts to court Lord Edward Seymour of Somerset Territory.”

Lord Edward Seymour is the son of Lord John Seymour and Lady Josette Collins, Duke and Duchess of Somerset Territory.

Lord Edward Seymour was born in March of 2275, two months before Lady Elizabeth was born and he is very handsome.

Lord Edward Seymour is the great-great-great-grandson of Lord Roger Seymour and Lady Phillipa Mortimer. 

Lord Roger Seymour has a son in  2180 name Lord William Seymour and he marries Lady Katherine Lancaster and they have a son, Lord Edward Thomas 2206 and in 2222 Lord Edward Seymour marries Lady Mary Scope and in 2230, they have a son, Lord William Seymour who marries Lady Elizabeth Scope and they have 2248, and in March of 2250 Lady Elizabeth has a son, Lord John who marries Lady Josette Collins in 2268 and they have Lord Edward in March of 2275.

Lord Edward Seymour is the heir to The Dukedom of Somerset Territory which is South-East of Norfolk Territory and East of Bedford Territory.

Lord William Seymour is a direct descendant of Lord Edward Seymour, Lord Protector and his wife, Lady Catherine Filo, and her children only came into the Dukedom when the Lord Protectors children by his second wife died off and they reach to his eldest son, Lord Edward Seymour to inherit the Dukedom of Somerset in England.

Lord William has a brother, Lord Charles Seymour and he was born in 2185 and he doesn’t marry until 2230, and he marries Lady Angeline Courtney and in 2235 they have a son, Lord Charles Edward Seymour  and in 2240, they have a daughter, Lady Margaret Anne.

Lord Charles Seymour married Lady Lettice Devereux in 2248 and they had a daughter, Lady Dorothy Seymour in 2252 and a son, Lord William Seymour in 2258.

Lady Elizabeth and Lord Edward are both heirs to the father’s Dukedoms.

Lady Elizabeth tells her mother “ Lord Richard Edward III treats me like Medusa and if he kisses me he will turn into stone.” 

“Mother, am I not the heiress of Norfolk Territory.” Lady Elizabeth asks her mother.

“Lady Elizabeth. You are the heiress to Dukedom of Norfolk Territory but don’t let it get to your head.” Lady Karissa tells her.

“I wouldn’t worry about Lord Richard Edward III as he has been brought up differently than your father and me.  Your father and I have an open marriage whereas he and I may have a lover.” Lady Karissa states.

“Our marriage was one of convenience and with my help and your birth he became Duke of Norfolk Territory, but every dog has his day.” Lady Karissa tells her daughter.

“I know that your father hasn’t been much of a father to you, Lady Elizabeth.” Lady Karissa tells her.

“I asked you once if I could have a new father and you said I was stuck with the one that I had.” Lady Elizabeth tells her mother.

“I am afraid you can’t trade him into a new model.” Lady Karissa tells Lady Elizabeth.

“Your father is not perfect but neither am I.” Lady Karissa states.

“I love your father in my own way and he has given me so far three beautiful children.” Lady Karissa tells Lady Elizabeth.

“Lady Elizabeth. Your father is  not a bad person and he does love his children.” Lady Karissa tells her.

Lady Elizabeth looks at her mother  “ Do you see how Lady Samhain freezes up when she sees our father and Lord Anthony looks at him when he enters the nursery.”  Lady Elizabeth asks.

“I have seen how your sister and brother look when they see your father.” Lady Karissa states. “Don’t let him scare you.” 

“Why is my father and my third cousin, Lord Richard William Carey so different?” Lady Elizabeth asks her mother.

“I expect it because he comes from the matrilineal line of your great-great-grandfather, Lord Frederick William and your father comes from the patrilineal line  of Lord Frederick William Howard.” Lady Karissa states.

“Lady Sophia Charlotte was the sister of Lord Charles Andrew Howard Senior and she was five years old than he was.” Lady Karissa states.

“Lord Richard Edward III comes from the patrilineal line of Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR and so do you.” Lady Karissa states.

“Lord David William Beck Senior comes from the matrilineal line of Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR through your first cousin twice removed, Lady Eliza Katherine and Lord David William is your second cousin.” Lady Karissa explains.

“I really don’t know too much about Lady Eliza but she married Lord William David Beck and they had Lord David William Beck Senior in 2245 and he didn’t marry until 2275 and they had Lord David William Beck II in December of 2276.” Lady Karissa explains.

“According to your grandfather. She died in 2250 before Lord David William's 5th birthday after she gave birth to a daughter, Lady Lisa Catherine Beck but she didn’t live too much longer after her mother.” Lady Karissa tells him.

“Lord Richard Edward III and you will work through your lover's spat.” Lady Karissa tells her daughter

“You are only 14 years old and you need to court other young men before you make a decision on who you will marry.” Lady Karissa tells her.

Lord Andrew Charles walks in and he looks at Lady Karissa and Lady Elizabeth and asks “What is this about?”

“Lord Richard Edward III has insulted Lady Elizabeth. He refused to kiss her.” Lady Karissa explains.

“Father, Lord Richard Edward III thinks I will turn him into stone.” Lady Elizabeth tells her father.

“He thinks I am Medusa.” Lady Elizabeth explains.

“Lady Elizabeth. You are the eldest cub of your mother and me and you are just as devious if not more so than your mother.” Lord Andrew Charles tells Lady Elizabeth.

“Lady Elizabeth. You are only 16 years old and you can have any young man of Star Base 12 and within any territory.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“It would be nice if Lord Richard Edward III and you marry and carry on what your great-great-great-grandfather, Lord Patrick William started in 2159.” Lord Andrew Charles tells Lady Elizabeth.

“I can still hope that you two will patch up things between you.” Lord Andrew Charles states “You know that your grandfather is hoping.”

Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane looks at her father and she tells him “ I am seeing Lord Edward Seymour.” 

“Oh ! the son of Lord John Seymour and Lady Josette Collins. They are both very decent and good people from good gentry families.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

Lady Elizabeth tells her father ‘ Lord Edward Seymour is handsome, charming and he is intelligent.” 

“It is a plus, Lady Elizabeth.” Lord Andrew Charles tells Lady Elizabeth.

From Wessex Territory where Lord Richard Edward II is Duke of Wessex Territory his son, Lord Richard Edward III tells his father and mother, “ Lady Elizabeth got mad at me because I wouldn’t kiss her.”

“Lady Elizabeth reminded me that she is heiress to the Dukedom of Norfolk Territory.” Lord Richard Edward III tells his father and mother.

“My son. Lady Elizabeth is the heiress to Norfolk and we were reinstated by Lord Andrew Charles to a title and position as your grandfather was written out of your great-grandfather’s Last Will and Testament.” Lord Richard Edward II states.

“I heard that Lady Elizabeth is seeing Lord John Seymour.” Lord Richard Edward III tells his father.

“Lord Andrew Charles and Lady Karissa give Lady Elizabeth the right to court whoever she wants.” Lord Richard Edward II states.

Lord Richard Edward Howard III looks at his father, “ Lord John Seymour is not Lord Charles Andrew Howard Senior great-grandson and knowing Lady Elizabeth she will not name her first born child with the surname of Seymour.” Lord Richard Edward III tells his father.

Lady Elizabeth and Lord John Seymour court each other until she cotillion in June of 2292 and on the evening of her cotillion she is escorted by her father to polite society and Lord Richard Edward Howard II and his son, Lord Richard Edward Howard III are there at the cotillion and Lord Richard Edward Howard III walks over to Lord Andrew Charles and Lady Elizabeth and from the balcony Lady Karissa and Lord Anthony are watching and 12 year old Lord Anthony tells his mother, “ Gee, mom. I like Lord Edward Seymour but I love my second cousin.” 

Lord Richard Edward Howard III walks over to where Lady Elizabeth is standing and he bows to Lady Elizabeth and   Lord Andrew Charles and they acknowledge it and Lord Richard Edward III tells Lady Elizabeth “ I have missed you Lady Bess.” 

“You sure have a strange way of showing it.” Lady Elizabeth tells him.

“I didn’t mean to insult you, Lady Elizabeth, but I didn’t want you to think I was taking advantage of you.” Lord Richard Edward III tells her.

Lord Edward Seymour is standing with his father, Lord John Seymour at the cotillion and he looks at his father “Gee dad. I didn’t know I was going to have competition with Lord Richard Edward Howard III.” 

“My son, Lady Elizabeth and Lord Richard Edward III are both the great-grandchildren of Lord Charles Andrew Senior and the gentleman over there is Lord Andrew Charles Howard and on the balcony is Lord Andrew Charles Duchess, Lady Karissa and she has gained the title of She-wolf of Star Base 12 and Norfolk Territory.” Lord John states.

“Lord Andrew Charles has an older brother with a daughter, Lady Autumn Bridget and she is very pretty. Lord Patrick William II is the Duke of Cambridge Territory, but knowing the Howard’s as  I do the first child will be given the surname of Howard.” Lord John states.

“They will inherit the Dukedom of Cambridge and Somerset Territories regardless to their sex.” Lord John states.

Lord Richard Edward III asks Lady Elizabeth “Would you like to dance, Lady Bess?”

“I thought you would never ask me to dance, but yes I would love to dance and Lord Richard Edward III and Lady Elizabeth walk out to the dance floor and everyone moves over and they lead all the young people to join them dance.

Lady Karissa watches from the balcony and Lord Anthony tells his mom “ I knew Lady Elizabeth and Lord Richard Edward III would make up.”

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR walks in and every bows and curtsy to him and he walks over to his son, “ I see my granddaughter and great-nephew have gotten back together. I look to them to marry and carry on what their great-great-great-grandfather started in 2159.”  Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

“Don’t worry dad. Lady Elizabeth and Lord Richard Edward III know their duty towards the family.” Lord Andrew Charles tells his father.

“Heck dad. Lady Karissa and I have given you five grandchildren, Lord Charles Andrew III has given you two grandchildren, and Lord Patrick William has given you one grandchild.” Lord Andrew Charles tells him.

“You have eight grandchildren from your sons and 5 grandchildren from your daughters, between all of your 5 children you have a tribe.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“I haven’t counted the grandchildren that Lady Frederica will give you later on.” Lord Andrew Charles tells him.

“I had to wait 33 years for my first grandchild.”Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

“I had to wait for my wife for 12 years.” Lord Andrew Charles states. “ How do you think I felt waiting all those years?”

“I had to wait from 2268 until 2274 and she came with a high price and it was Lady Elizabeth.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“I told you I would give you your first grandchild., but it had to be with the right woman.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR watches Lady Elizabeth and Lord Richard Edward III trip the lights fantastic and Lady Karissa from the balcony watches with Lord Anthony.
